Rest in peace, Lonesome George, the last surviving Pinta Island giant tortoise (Chelonoidis abingdoni), thought to be more than 100 years old.

This is so sad…the end of a species. Lonesome George is the mascot/logo for my collaborative project that supports endangered species The Endangered Species Print Project. We have raised almost $10,000 to date.
